Nela reviews Owari no Seraph

One of the best animes and mangas I’ve been reading, I really like the whole demon vs human universe they got. Vampires, demons and humans fighting the demons including vampires – that kind of story. With vampires keeping human children as cattle.

The main characters are awesome and I feel with them at the same time that I feel that their priorities are weird as fuck. The main character Hyakuya Yuuichirou is one that I can’t really forget, the intense hatred and the revenge he has in his heart is truely memorable. Not because it is noble or cool, he had these intense feelings before he even lost the people he treasured.

He has something else dark inside of him that is kept secret, even when he merges with a demonsword – as an exorcist you’ve got to have a weapon able to cut down a vampire/other demons – which means that he can’t and can let the demon control his body, but it is actually afraid of what he has inside of him for some odd reason; which we don’t know what and why yet, I WANT TO KNOW BADLY.

I love all the plot twist they throw at you in the manga and hopefully they throw that into the anime too (haven’t finished it).

The plot and the characters make it worth reading and watching, the art is stunning and it relies heavily on friendship, the ideal of it and the realistic part of it.

Summary
One day a mysterious virus appears on Earth which wipes out every infected human over the age of 13. At the same time vampires bursted out into the world from the darkness and enslaved the young ones left behind by the plague. Hyakuya Yuuichirou, a young orphan boy, who along with the rest of the children from his orphanage (they were his family) are treated as livestock by the vampires. Even in captivity with no hope Yuuichirou dreams big. He dreams of killing the vampires, he dreams of killing them all!

Do I recommend this anime?
HELLYEAH! I also recommend reading the manga, because it is just THAT good.
