Nela reviews Kamisama Hajimemashita
A really heart-throbbing anime with a bunch of moe, slice of life and supernatural bound together. I read the manga and when I heard the season 1 for Kamisama Hajimemashita (Kamisama Kiss) was greenlit I just couldn’t wait.
I love the artstyle, I love the backgrounds and the general feel of the characters and environment. I fell in love with Tomoe and Nanami, their relationship is so damn cute and adorable. Moe moe moe moe moe!
Season 2 is out too and it still rocks, just like season 1. Same artstyle, not diverting from the manga at all, loved it – haven’t finished it yet though, for some reason we stopped watching a lot of anime.
Seb loved it too, which is nice when you both enjoy the show you’re watching.
Nanami Momozono is alone and homeless after her father skipped town to evade his gambling debts, the debt collectors kicked her out of the apartment they lived in. So when a man she just met and saved from a dog offers her a home, she jumps at the opportunity. But the place turns out to be a shrine, and Nanami has unknowingly taken the job of being a landgod – a local deity.
Nanami has all kinds of new responsibilities that she doesn’t understand, dangers that she’s unaware of and a cranky ex-familiar (of the man she just met) who’s actually pretty good looking. What’s a new-fledged godling to do?!
Do I recommend this anime?
Yes. I even recommend the manga to read.
I promise you’ll enjoy it.
